In response to the extended Covid-19 restrictions in Auckland, the Minister of Social Development and Employment Minister Carmel Sepuloni and the Minister of Economic and Regional Development Minister Stuart Nash announced a Reactivating Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland package on 1 December 2021. This support package was aimed at reiving economic, social and cultural activities in New Zealand's largest city over the summer.
