The America’s Cup returns once again to Auckland's waterfront this December with the America’s Cup World Series Auckland and culminates in March 2021 with the 36th America’s Cup Match.

All of Auckland, New Zealand and the world will be watching as defender Emirates Team New Zealand competes in an epic battle on Auckland’s stunning Waitematā Harbour.

Auckland Council, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), Mana Whenua and America's Cup Events Ltd (ACE) are working together on a comprehensive 36th America’s Cup programme that will ensure a spectacular event and maximise shared benefits for Auckland and New Zealand. Auckland Unlimited is the lead agency for the Auckland Council group and is committed to ensuring the event results in an outstanding legacy for our region.

Despite the loss of many international visitors, the eyes of the world will still be on Auckland – with the 36th America's Cup broadcast to millions of households in more than 100 countries, enhancing our destination brand and generating future propensity to travel and do business here among a captive global audience. It’s anticipated to be the most-watched America’s Cup of recent times, reaching a cumulative audience of up to 1.4 billion viewers.
