The region’s screen industry hit $1 billion gross revenue from production in 2017, supporting more than 6800 jobs across more than 1700 businesses. This includes world class animation, post-production, special effects and prop manufacturer companies.

Showcasing New Zealand's creative sector

Science action thriller The Meg was filmed almost entirely in and around Auckland, with the majority of filming taking place at the purpose-built Kumeu Film Studios. Director Jon Turteltaub said the skill, talent and creativity in the production design brought The Meg to life.

Power Rangers has been filmed in Auckland since 2002
