Me mahi tahi tātou mo te oranga o te katoa. We must work together for the wellbeing of all.

Auckland’s Māori identity is a unique point of difference in the world. How we entrench te reo Māori in our communications, incorporate te ao Māori in our storytelling, and advance the aspirations of Māori in our community – through the diverse initiatives, programmes and events we deliver – will play a major role in Auckland’s recovery from the impacts of COVID-19; and that of our Māori businesses, artists and communities.

Te Mahere Aronga outlines the context for our work to 2024, what we are planning to achieve, and how we will be accountable to the people of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.

Highlights and successes

The inaugural Ākina publication features highlights and successes from some of the Māori Outcomes initiatives Tātaki Auckland Unlimited has supported or developed over the past few years since we were established as an Auckland Council-controlled organisation.

We have been privileged to work with incredible pakihi Māori, toi Māori, and a range of sponsors and partners. Our role is help others grow and succeed, so some initiatives in this publication were led or delivered by collaborators who share our commitment and passion.
