For the third year running, Tātaki Auckland Unlimited has gained Toitū carbonreduce certification, demonstrating its ongoing dedication to reduce climate impacts. In addition, Auckland Zoo, a division of Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, has been awarded Toitū carbonzero certification for the seventh consecutive year.

Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, the region’s economic and cultural agency, is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 50 per cent by 2030, in line with carbon reduction goals set in Te Tāruke-ā-Tāwhiri: Auckland's Climate Plan. This plan follows Auckland Council declaring a climate emergency in 2019.

The certification measured emissions consumed by activities across Tātaki Auckland Unlimited operations including Auckland Live, Auckland Conventions, Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki, Auckland Stadiums, Auckland Zoo, New Zealand Maritime Museum, non-production film studios, GridAKL and its corporate unit.
